Billy Blank's Boot Camp

I believe in Billy Blanks.

Back when I was a sophomore in high school (99-00), my PE teacher had us do Tae Bo once a week. God, I loved Tae Bo. I just thought it was the greatest ever. I had always been obsessed with how fun aerobics videos looked. Don't let this give you the impression that I actually worked out. Heaven's no.  But then came high school and Tae Bo. Let me tell you, Friday's became a lot more exciting. I lived for Tae Bo. It was so fun.

Right now, 90 per cent of my diet is made up of carbohydrates and its been this way for years now...probably SINCE my sophomore year of high school. I never exercise and I don't drink  water. So about a year ago, with my minimal budget, I tried several times to win Tae Bo on ebay. Yeah...didn't happen.  I just figured that maybe a little exercise could counter the other stuff.

Funny thing is, last saturday morning my roommate and I were bored and watching infomercials.  Lo and behold - Billy Blanks has a new workout!  Billy Blank's Boot Camp!!  Of course I had to explain my Billy Blanks obsession to my roommate.  And then came the price - 39.95 plus shipping and handling.  Not excessive, but out of the set price range I'd pay for it.

So I went on ebay....only one person was selling it and they were charging 40.99 to start.  Um, no.

So, last night I was hanging out with my friend at Amoeba Records in Hollywood.  When we went last week, there were no Billy Blanks things at all in their DVD section.  I was so close to not checking this time. I glanced over whistfully at the Exercise section. But then I thought "why not?"  and sweet mother of cheesecake!  They have the first DVD. only 4.99!! So I pulled it out...and wait....they had all of them!  So I grabbed them all 20 bucks for the whole dang set. I'm sure it will be on ebay for cheaper, but 20 was my max to spend on it anyway.  Naturally, I had to explain to my friend why this was exciting.

I went on Amazon this morning to find a picture for you guys - but the DVDs havent been released yet?!?  Who is this magical god or godess who knew I wanted these so badly that they manufactured them and planted them in the store for my benefit?

Here is the amazon link, though it does you no good: Billy Blank's Boot Camp

And here is the link to the website for the DVDs: Billy's Boot Camp!
When you buy it all nice and packaged it comes with crap that I wouldnt use anyway, like vitamin supplements...who needs vitamins when you've got a 12-pack of Sprite in the fridge and some TV dinners in the freezer?  Those are all the supplements I need....

I LOVE TAE-BO. I felt every word you wrote there. I lost a ton of weight on it in college. I think it's the most fun work out ever! Unfortunately, I moved to Europe and didn't bring it with me since I had it on VHS and their format is different over here. I'd kill for it on DVD - The Advanced workout. I'd kill for any Billy Blanks workout. But I can't get it over here. Maybe i can have a family member send it to me... hrrrmmm....

I don't know what I would be more exited over...finding the entire collection of DVD's that I wanted or getting a blazing deal on them. I would have dropped to the floor then kicked myself around in a circle like Homer Simpson, yelling "WHOO WHOOO WHOOO!".
